This Privacy Notice explains how James Kelsall, trading as Speechcraft (the "Seller", "we", "us"), collects and uses personal data when you use speechcrafthq.com and the Speechcraft service (the "Service"). The Seller is the data controller for personal data processed through the Service.

1. Personal Data We Collect

  • Account data: name, email address, login credentials (hashed).
  • Speech inputs: names, relationships, memories, tone preferences and any other details you submit to generate a speech.
  • Generated outputs: the speeches we produce for you, retained so you can access them from your account.
  • Support communications: messages you send us.
  • Usage & device data: IP address, device/browser type, pages visited, and similar telemetry collected automatically for security and product improvement.
  • Payment metadata: order IDs and status from our reseller Paddle. We do not see or store full payment card details.

2. How and Why We Use Your Data

  • Provide the Service — create your account, generate speeches, deliver outputs (legal basis: contract).
  • Customer support — respond to your questions (legal basis: contract / legitimate interest).
  • Security & fraud prevention — protect the Service and our users (legal basis: legitimate interest, legal obligation).
  • Product improvement & analytics — understand usage and improve features (legal basis: legitimate interest).
  • Legal compliance — tax, accounting and regulatory obligations (legal basis: legal obligation).
  • Marketing — only where you have opted in or as otherwise permitted by law (legal basis: consent).

3. AI Processing of Speech Inputs

To generate your speech we send the details you provide to AI model providers acting as processors on our behalf. We instruct providers not to train their public models on your inputs. Avoid submitting sensitive personal data (e.g. health, financial, government IDs) about yourself or third parties.

4. Who We Share Data With

  • Service providers (processors): cloud hosting, database, authentication, analytics, customer support tooling, and AI model providers.
  • Merchant of Record — Paddle: Paddle.com Market Limited acts as the reseller and Merchant of Record for our orders. Paddle processes payments, handles subscription/order management, calculates and remits taxes, issues invoices, and handles refund and customer-service inquiries about billing.
  • Professional advisers: legal, accounting and similar advisers where necessary.
  • Authorities: where required by law or to protect our rights.

5. International Transfers

Some of our providers (including Paddle and AI model providers) may process personal data outside your country, including in the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions.

6. Retention

We retain account and speech data for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. You can request deletion of your account at any time (see Your Rights below). Backups are deleted on a rolling schedule.

7. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing of your personal data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. Residents of the UK/EEA also have the right to lodge a complaint with their supervisory authority. To exercise your rights, contact us using the details below. We aim to respond within one month.

8. Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit, hashed passwords, access controls and audit logging. No system is completely secure; please use a strong, unique password.

9. Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to operate the Service. We may use limited analytics cookies to understand aggregate usage. You can manage cookies through your browser settings.

10. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

We may update this Notice from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page.
